Navigation bars and buttons

I thought we had done the navigation bars and buttons in class and like most of us did not think to post the ICE work. I think I do have some of the work around the site but I am not sure.

Vector Editing

Wow, what a job.  All of the vector editing requirements are complete and on one page.   I used the ellipse and the polygon to begin with and then applied the star and the  doughnut.   I used several of the vector and the bitmap tools to rearrrange and reorganize the images before applying the live filter effects.   Two were grouped and two more were scaled and rotated.

My bitmap image is the representation of the United States Marines and the United States Navy Corpsman on the Iwo Jima Memorial now located in Arlington, Virginia depicting the battle for Iwo Jima in February 1945.  From that battle came the statement: UNCOMMON VALOR WAS A COMMON VIRTUE.   I think the “bleeding” (transparency of all of the images)  effect and the color balance provide a nice overall effect.   The wording “am i pretty” applies to the pink ellipse on which it is atached and not to the Marines or the Sailor or the Iwo Jima Memorial.  It was and is not a small bitmap image but I wanted to give the vector palette some “panache.”   I have, however, applied a small bitmap image to my blog as an avatar.

Bitmap Editing

       The Bitmap Editing requirements as to Scaling, Cropping, Selecting and Cloning bitmap images are posted to my homework index page and linked sequentially one to the other in the given order and the fist page is linked to the homework index page as requested.   There are two cloning examples because I separated the two images on the second example to better see the cloning effect.   This was lot of  fun and quite interesting.   All of the bitmap images had to be scaled or cropped as appropriate before applying the requested procedure.

JPEG Compression(Fireworks for the first time)

Fireworks is working fine for me.   It is an excellent program for combining the attributes of Dreamweaver and Photoshop in preparing and presenting  graphic objects.  I had to keep myself from automatically trying to work in Photoshop and save my work to Fireworks rather than  just starting in Fireworks and using its tools to do what I wanted to do.  I have completed the tutorials and the two assignments and published those to the web linked to the homework page as requested.
